19 August 2024: The community share offer for Wholefoods of Newport is not going ahead. Please bear with us as we update the website.

Would you like to help secure the future of Wholefoods of Newport as a community-owned wholefoods shop? Become a shareholder!

We've already raised over £100,000 but there's still a long way to go!

“Wholefoods of Newport is the centrepiece of the independent shops that make Newport so special. It provides an outlet for our local growers and bakers as well as stocking basics and more exotic store cupboard ingredients. I invested because I'd like to protect the diverse offering that comes from having shops of all types in our small towns." Rachel, Moylgrove, Pembrokeshire

Why invest?

In addition to earning interest of up to 4%, and potentially getting a 30% tax rebate, your investment will help to safeguard the future of Wholefoods of Newport as a flagship for healthy, local, sustainably produced and ethically sourced food.

What is the target? What is the minimum investment?

We need to raise a minimum of £325,000 in order to buy the shop. However, to realise our exciting plans in full, we need to raise more.

You can become a shareholder by investing at least £100, and you will be able to have your say in how the shop is run on a one member, one vote basis. But we are hoping to attract over 400 investors with an average investment of over £1,000. We will also be applying for grant funding.

Learn more about our plans - see a video and the slidedeck from the launch.
